New travel exemption for immediate family member not being honoured or implemented by OUTCAN visa offices

At this point, it doesn’t seem to make any difference. We all put the travel purpose as covid 19 and our applications were put on hold anyway.

I understand your frustration, we are all frustrated, but I don’t understand the point or the value of directing your frustration toward other members or venting on this forum.

Aha I didn’t notice that message to be honest so you are probably right but as You said no harm in updating the answer via a web inquiry. It may even let someone open your application.

If she is dependent on you and all expense are covered by you, I highly suggest correcting your answer. You can submit a letter of explanation via the webform: https://www.cic.gc.ca/english/contacts/web-form.asp.

Biometrics is not required if you already provided one in last 10 years so Spvisapr must have provided his/her in the sponsorship application.

That's correct. The most important step is to validate the form before uploading it. From memory, I think only the application form required this. Other forms (e.g. Family information - imm5645e) can be printed then scanned or digitally signed in Acrobat or Mac's preview app.

You don't need to sign the pdf document. You will be asked to type your name once you complete the online application and before you submit it and that will be your signature. See: https://www.cic.gc.ca/english/helpcentre/answer.asp?qnum=740 and I think this is also mentioned on the PDF file as...

New travel exemption for immediate family member not being honoured or implemented by OUTCAN visa offices

I see, that makes sense - I didn't get one in my case because the visit is for less than 6 month and answered "NO" for the medical exam question.

How long do you want to stay in Canada? Medical test is not required for a visitor visa unless it is for more than 6 months. I think the chance of rejection will increase significantly for any period longer than 6 months (even 6 months is risky enough :D).

I think the photo field is required and you can‘t submit the application without it. You can use any old passport photo and it doesn't need to be recent since, as you mentioned, a new one will be taken for biometrics.

New travel exemption for immediate family member not being honoured or implemented by OUTCAN visa offices

From my recent communications with the department, I don’t think a quarantine plan is required as part of the application but you need to have one when you arrive at the border and be able to show it to the border officer. Though I did mention on the application that I can’t provide a flight or...

New travel exemption for immediate family member not being honoured or implemented by OUTCAN visa offices

So I contacted the embassy here (Australia) and asked them whether there is an exemption for immediate family members and the team responded with: It seems either there is no coordination between the different visa officers or someone simply didn't go through our application. I sent a follow...
