    I thought non routine can mean that you lives in other countries and not just one. That is my husband's case Algerian living in Qatar for work so they have to run background check in both countries and that is non-routine.

    Just as information, IRCC will want a medical done regardless of custody. This will allow for the child to be sponsored at anytime in the future, regardless if this is happening currently or not.
