landing into canada by car(from US), quebec immigrant

I believe you can land at any border crossing but would be expected to then make your way to Quebec. I hope you are aware that the car has to meet Canadian requirements and may need to have adjustments made to it to do so. This could add additional time and costs to your plans.

Concern over the long time required for PR procesing

Without meaning to sound nasty, I think you have to consider the purpose of the pass mark. It is to insure the people needed in Canada are allowed in. In other words it is about what is best for Canada and Canadians at the time that the pass mark is set. It is not about what is fair to the...

    LANDING FEE CUT TO $490

If you have already paid the fee, you actually need to do nothing. Anyone 'landing' after March 3rd, will automatically be sent a refund cheque to their Canadian address. You don't need to APPLY for it.

    "Port of Entry"

Another way to put it would be that you can't get into Canada without going through Immigration and Customs. So there is no need to worry however you travel. We are in BC in Osoyoos. When we got my wife's visa, we just drove 3 miles to the border, crossed into the US, literally did a...

    Buying a House in Canada

You find an agent you want to work with. Tell him/her what you are looking for. They show you some homes, you decide to make an offer. Once an offer is accepted and signed, it is a binding contract. Basically the same. As for prices, like anywhere, it's more about what area of a city...

Public school from elem through high school in Canada

Should have added two things. 1. Private schools have a lower student to teacher ratio. That's good. It means that generally students tend to score a little higher than they would in a public school, simply because the teacher can spend more time with them individually. 2. Private...

Public school from elem through high school in Canada

I would say Canadian public schools rank well in comparision to any other country. The vast majority of Canadians attend public schools.

Waiting on a response from Canadian Immigration but ready...

As a Canadian citizen sponsoring a spouse from outside Canada brule, you don't need anything but your citizenship. You don't need to have a home, you have to promise you will support her for 3 years but you don't even have to say where you will get the money to do that. You do have to give...

Wife denied PR due to criminal history

If it were me, I think I would bite the bullet and hire a professional. Although you may be able to do it yourself, do you really want to risk getting it wrong?
