hello senior what is difference between invitation letter and purpose of travel ?

1) have you ever been refused a visa or permit ,denied entry or ordered to leave canada or any other country ? 2) have you previously applied to enter or remain in canada ? what this means in two lines ?

i choose canada because my sis live in Canada and she send invitation,she is permanent residents in canada ,just for 2 week visit because my nephew have birthday
