In further communications with me, they sent me postal mails to my new address. So I know they change it (without acknowledgement). I do not think you can check it. Just trust them.

Well, I think you should take a chance. else all your effort is wasted. I suggest, personally go to VAC, with a letter explaining the things. They may consider it. If you dont apply then it is 100% loss. If you apply, then there is a chance. I am sure they make exceptions, not everyone misses...
