Mississauga Citizenship Applicants

I have been asking for Mississauga applicants to file a public petition to the House of Commons for a pause to all new applications till the backlog is cleared, but no one seems interested. Nothing may come out of the petition, but it will at least highlight that there is an issue which needs to be addressed. IRCC is happy to administer tests even if applicants are outside Canada! What is the big hurry for them? While those of us who have been in the system far longer are being penalized. Thanks to Covid, I am close to 2200 days in Canada; even if they disregard by first 1095 days, I would still qualify!

I am in if someone takes a lead to start that petition.

IRCC received my application back on Oct 2019 and the ARO is Jan 2020 and background Jan 2020 since that day nothing, no exam or even an email and every time i submit a web form nothing happens now my passport got expired and I need to travel is that normal that no exam even till now.

Unfortunately, with the backlog everything is normal. I am an Oct 2018 applicant still waiting and twiddling my thumbs. There is no method in Mississauga Office’s madness.

I emailed Mississauga yesterday to have an update regarding my application. They replied saying that I'm in queue for review. I cleared the test already. It's very frustrating!

Hi - Curious to know, did you have multiple entry-exits while you were on PR before applying for citizenship?

Yes. As a family, we landed in Canada and went back to let my children finish their school year. The following summer, my wife and children moved to Canada permanently, while I spent another 6 months outside Canada winding up my professional commitments. During this period, I made four short trips to Canada to spend time with my family. Once I relocated permanently, I did not travel outside, except to the US to visit my extended family. My US visa was still valid at the time.

I'm not sure I used to travel 2 times a year to the USA but still, I have a friend who traveled more than that and we landed back in 2012 together and we came in 2016 and he traveled more than me and he got the oath back in Nov.
I think everyone here at least got the exam?

Hello At least you have done the exam , Now my initial passport got expired and to renew it it will takes 6 month and i need to travel next month
