Proof of relationship with cousin

Hi Everybody, I'm applying for the Visitor Visa and I'm being invited by my cousin which is a Canadian citizen but we have no idea how can we prove that we are related. Portal suggests a picture of the passports or birth certificates but they won't show any relevant info... maybe attaching our mothers BC should work? (they have the same parents).

Also, what can work as a proof of returning? I'm staying at her home so there's no hotel reservation or something similar and I don't want to buy tickets yet until my Visa is approved.

I'm not sure about the first question.

For the second question, proof of returning is ties to your home country. So you would want to show things like emplyment, property ownership, etc.

thanks, I will ask my employer to write a letter saying that I have permission to travel during the following days and then expected to return to my labors, I guess that would suffice, or would a copy of my labour contract be a better idea?

on the other hand I found out that both BC (my cousin and I) have our grandparents info in it so it should be enough proof of relationship.
