I see lots of PPRs for FSWO today (Source: Kubeir FB group), especially from VO: Ottawa but nothing from FSW-Inland category. No complaint since obviously there are so many FSWO applications as compared to Inland. This again proves that IRCC does not consider Inland/Outland differentiation when it comes to FSW. I feel FSW Inland people are most affected due to this mess. But this is positive news for us since these approvals are from Ottawa VO.

Excellent thought! :)

It's a shame that they don't differentiate Inland/Outland, especially now with this huge backlog.

I understand the pain of being outland and never get an answer from IRCC, but as long as you don't rush with everything in your life, such as, quitting your job, telling your entire family and friends, and so on, before you get the final approval, you should be good. Frustrate and anxious, for sure, but without too much impact in your life and rights.

In my case, for example, I didn't even mention to anyone that I'd got an offer to work in Canada, except my parents and my wife. I only mentioned it to my friends and my employer when I got my Work Permit approved. In this was in 2019, when everything was running smoothly.

Now, if you are inland, that is when the shit show begins: temporary visas expiring, new temporary visas applications that never gets approved and means more work for IRCC, rights that you lose while in implied status, not being able to properly travel to your home country and come back, ...

Well I had an update on both my 2nd BOWP and my PR profile today. PR was just a ghost update, my BOWP on the other hand was approved and is valid for 2 years. I guess the PR wait continues....

Hi, can you tell what exactly is a ghost update? Is it in the form or email?

Yeah, a ghost update is when you log in to check the status of your application, and the "current status" indicator says something like "profile updated", but when you click into your application nothing has changed. No email.

I have a valid work permit for another 2 years and they haven't touched my application for the entire year. Do you think it is related?

Medicals extension just got reflected in my profile:
  • February 5, 2022 You passed the medical exam.
Do they use GMT time or Toronto (Eastern) time?

I'm in SK, and here is still Feb 4, so this is an update from the future. lol

Did you get an email saying your application status has changes for medicals extension or they got updated in the portal just with a ghost update?

Just got the approval e-mail and replied to it. Just waiting for the portal e-mail.

My wife also got the email, however, as per instructions, I replied that I want to represent all my dependants, which is only her.

Does she still need to reply to the e-mail that she got?

It's so weird, her email says the same thing, even though I am the main applicant.
