Travel during online semester

Hello,
I came to Canada last month on my study permit. I came to know that my entire first semester is online. Hence, I want to go back to India for personal reasons and want to complete my 1st semester from there. I will be coming back for my second semester to Canada.
I just want to ask that can I travel and come back safely to Canada? Will I face any difficulties at the port of entry?
Is there any specific permission I need to obtain before going? I talked to my college, they said there is no such permission is given. You can travel if you really wish to. But we do not advise.

No issue you can travel back to India and as long as you can prove you are still registered for classes for your second semester you will be able to return.
