Canadian Passport - Mail-In Application Timelines

Hello i was charged on the 20th they said when i called them that it is by 4th Feb if you did not receive anything call us back but not sure i do not trust them.

I m sure you will get it by 5-6 of Feb

• Jan 26 mailed application for my and my spouses first Canadian passport
• Jan 31 shows delivered to Ottawa (I sent to Gatineau, but apparently this is common from what I've seen in this thread)

Planning on travelling mid-March, hope they arrive in time!

My kids application was submitted in person by visiting Service Canada and his application was routed to Gatineau and its sitting with them since Dec 03.

If you have an itinerary for your travel in March then call Passport Canada and have the file transfer to your local office and set an appointment with your local office and get it done within a week.

I had to canceled my travel plan due to this delay.

Same Timeline for me as well. Mine was delivered this morning.

Well, that's worrying. I actually called passport canada to request an in-person application first. I told her I had a flight on the 14th, and she said that I had to mail it in as it wasn't "urgent" and that I would get my passports in time. I had my doubts as well, but she assured me it would arrive. Still very nervous though.

Did you mentioned on the first page your travel date if yes probably they will send it before that

I think I did, but only on mine and not my spouses. Hopefully it comes through. Next thing to watch out for I guess is when the CC is charged? thanks!

Received my passport today. Whole process of mailing took a month and a half exactly. My immigration journey is over.

Hello do you think what is happening in Ottawa now will delay the applications?? as the folks they will use any excuse to do it, anyone called them recently last two days? i am prepared for an answer like the delay is cause by the protests. application will take 1 year and 6 months now.

Hi guys, our passports were delivered to Ottawa on 18th Jan and got CC charged today. How much time it roughly takes once CC is charged to receive PP?

Here is my timeline for my kid's application:

Application delivered: December 29th

Called on 14th Jan as CC was not charged, came to know that application is in progress

CC charged : January 21st

Birth certificate received: January 25th

Passport collected : January 28th

Note : called passport helpline on Jan 26th n got the tracking number for PP.
The parcel with passport never came to me as there was a typo in address (strange as it was fine for the birth certificate). Collected the from the Canada post on Jan 28th

lLesson learnt: It’s always good to call them whenever you think it’s getting late. If I hadn’t called , I would have never known the status and parcel would be sitting in PO.

It was really unprofessional that they got the address wrong! Luckily you were still able to collect it.

Sorry i don’t want to be mean or rude but no one knows it may take one week it may take 2 weeks or 3 or forever i see some after a week some after weeks my card was charged on 20th Jan and still now nothing sent to me and still in process what a horrible service for the taxes we pay.
