So he has your study permit? Did you direct your mail to be forwarded with Canada Post when you moved?

First she said she does not have any document by this name and when I said I will file a complaint then she said if I apologize then she will try to find out my document. She is totally confusing me.

If she doesn’t have the document, then she doesn’t have it. She has no obligation to keep or forward your mail to you. That is your responsibility when you moved. You should have gone to Canada Post and put in an application to forward your mail. All she has to do when mail comes in your name is to put it back in the mailbox as ”return to sender” or “not at this address.” Filing a complaint to whom?

I will not file against her but I have to lodge a report to police that I have lost my study permit to get the replacement of new one.This thing I want to elaborate her to help her if police enquire then she will not get into any trouble.

What would she get in trouble for? Why are the police involved? Your permit wasn’t stolen. You didn’t get it mailed to the right address. That isn’t theft. The police aren’t going to contact her or go to her home about your study permit. File the forms to replace your lost permit.

I saw on IRCC website that if I lost my study permit then I have to lodge a report and attach a copy of this to the web form.

Ok…do you have a tracking number with the post office. Find out if it was actually delivered to your old address. If so, ask the owner again. If owner doesn’t have it, then file a report. The police aren’t going to contact the owner if the permit was not received since it is not stolen.

I believe she has received because other tenants living in her house informed me that she has it.I also requested her to give it to me but she refused to give.

I left her home because she seeks rent for cash and I do not have cash to give her.So I request her that I can do bank payments.Thats why she throw me out of the house without giving notice.I did not take any action towards this as I was new at that time and I did not know tenent rights.She does not stop irritating me even I left her home.She consistently contacted to my known in India and Canada as well that I am not a good person.But fortunately no one cares about what she is spreading about me.Everyone has taken stand for me.This is the only reason she is showing grudges.

Forget about her and move on. File the report and replace your study permit. You can go to the Post Office and ask to have your mail forwarded for a fee, if you don’t want mail to go to her house.
