Canadian Passport Question

Hello All,

Question for those who have received their Canadian Passport. I don't have Surname/Last name in my Indian Passport.

I only have Given name in my Indian Passport. May I know when I receive my Canadian Passport after my citizenship is approved, will they leave surname empty or will them mention something like "XXX" or "LNU" on my Canadian Passport?

Did you already send an application?

Did you see how the form says "Surname (last name) requested to appear in the passport"? What exactly did you write in it? That's what will appear.

Sorry I'm yet to apply for my citizenship application. That's why I was just worried how should I go about with my surname.

Sorry I'm yet to apply for my citizenship application. That's why I was just worried how should I go about with my surname.

Then you need the canadian certificate before you can apply for the canadian passport. You are overthinking. Apply citizenship first.

Your Given name in Indian Passport will appear as Surname on Canadian Passport and your Given Name will be XXXXX.

You can go through name change process before applying for Citizenship or you can also do this once you received your Citizenship certificate.
