Hello,

I have applied for Family sponsorship for PR. I recently had to submit my biometrics (which I did) and now, I believe they may get back to me soon for the medical checkup. However, I was trying to get it done in advance without waiting for them to tell me to do it. The clinic I am trying to book uses e-medical. Is it usually okay to perform the medical checkup in advance or should I first wait for further instructions?

It is not advisable to do an upfront medical for family sponsorship. IRCC only encourages 'Express Entry' candidates to get early medical.

If the hospital has a long waiting period, you could try booking in advance to save some time. In some countries waiting for medical exam exceeds 1 or 2 months. But don't do the exam before getting the official request, make sure you postpone the booking until you get the request from IRCC.
