Hello all,

I had a question, I have applied for my mother's visit visa in Feb 2021 and have not heard from them yet (before it said processing time 310 days roughly, now the website says processing time 31 days). I have not heard any correspondence from them yet. What should i do?

1. withdraw this application and reapply?

2. contact CIC and ask about the progress

meanwhile we also got selected for the parents and grandparents sponsorship application which we applied for my parents in November 2021, but our income falls short of the requirements so maybe that application will be rejected. Please suggest what i should do. Thanks

1. Yes, you should reapply.
2. You can contact IRCC but you will only receive a general answer in return.

If you don't meet the income requirements for parent / grandparent sponsorship, there is no point submitting your application. Refusal is guaranteed. You're wasting money applying. There is zero chance of success.

I am curious as to why you strongly recommend reapplying ........... Do you think these older applications (6 months+ old) won't be processed?

They will be eventually. But right now we are seeing faster processing where people have reapplied after September 7th per IRCC's announcement here:

https://www.canada.ca/en/immigratio...rvices/coronavirus-covid19/visitors/visa.html
But the OP hasn't implied that his mother needs to travel NOW, maybe he/she just wanted to know what's going on with their application, which doesn't necessarily indicate an urgency to travel soon.
I was just curious as to why you said ''you should reapply''
I believe older applications(applications before Sep 7) will have to be processed sometime soon.
