Fair but the thing is if Canada doesnt produce then Saudi Arabia will and Canada will have to buy from then anyways
Canada imports most of its usable oil (gasoline, diesel etc). It doesn't refine its own crude oil, and exports it to the US. What you're saying here doesn't make sense.

I understand what you're going through because I too was in a similar situation a week back. Did upfront Meds in sept and then Ircc sent us a Med request in the month of oct. you may read the whole story here.

https://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/threads/december-2019-aor-join-here.666708/post-9803784

However I consistently kept on prompting them with web forms every week and also requested the panel physicians to link the upfront medical reports with new requests. It took them nearly 2 months before my gc key account was updated with" Passed " status.

You've already taken the necessary steps informing IRCC about the situation. Just keep prompting them. Also, these days IRCC takes more than 6 to 8 weeks before updating the meds so you'll need to be patient because no matter what you do, you cant expedite the process. Hang in there , Your Meds will be updated in a few days. All the best.
Thank you so much for responding. So I guess that means I shouldn’t go for a new med right? And it’s crazy that it took them 2 months to get the meds passed in your case, considering they give just 30 days to do a new med.

This wait is going to be painful as I continue to kick myself every day for doing upfront meds, but thank you for the supportive response nonetheless :)

nothing is crazy, it's very obvious and normal for ircc.

Don't be too hard on yourself for opting an upfront meds.It will only increase your mental turmoil. Most of us are sailing in the same boat and would have done the same thing you did. You just have to wait it out till they update your meds . Good luck.

From what I understand, the problem with going for upfront medicals is that the visa officer who makes the final decision and approves the application will not take a call on medicals, they will just ask for new medicals if they are expired. Medical exam approval is handled by completely separate people so even if you go for upfront medicals without being asked for them, your new medicals might get updated on your account but there is no guarantee that the VO who is supposed to approve your application even looked at it, that is completely random. If you get a re-med request, I think a VO has pretty much approved the application and PPR will be issued once re-meds are passed.

@dxdroid got a nomination and vanished into thin air. Who would have thought?
I did not vanish, I am here. I had to translate some additional docs which took some time and we had to make sure that everything is in correct order. Application is finally submitted to the New Brunswick province. We are just waiting. It looks like that they have jumped on it straight away. The next day after we have submitted application we got a notification in the portal that they request to change the name on the profile of INB as there was no middle name field anywhere in the form so we just put First Name and Last Name but they have fixed as of now.

I have also started working on some of my projects that I was delaying and came back to 110% mode of learning :) I had to take a longer break from the forum.

Yes, the way it works, we got a letter of interest from New Brunswick. So we have to submit two applications. One directly to NB and the other one after we will receive official ITA on our EE profile. Official ITA will be issued to us once New Brunswick application will be processed. We are in the contact with the NB PNP team who are very helpful and very responsive as well. From what I have found out the assessment of this application in NB should be really quick. They have also mentioned that once our application will be approved and official ITA will be sent out to EE profile then there is a possibility that we will get open work permits in the mean time when we will be waiting for our PR through EE. We will see.
