Hi All,
I had applied for a 1 year extension. On No 09,2021 my application got approved and IRCC has requested for a medical exam. However the in Canada approval letter that I received in the online account shows
Type: Permit-VR and a Validity: Dec 09, 2021.

It also says that a secure document has been mailed to my address.

Does that mean I have to leave by Dec 09, 2021?
If that is the case, is there a need for a medical exam?

I am little confused here, please share you expertise

Thank you!

Yes the extension took so long that you have already used up most of the extension. You haven’t been granted the year. How long have you been in Canada? Why are you visiting?

How long were you given on initial entry and when did you apply for an extension? You are essentially given 30 days to leave Canada. Why do you want to extend your stay? There are reasons which will give you a better chance at remaining in Canada.

I came here on visitor visa which allows 6 months stay, Feb'21 to Aug'21 . I had applied for the extension in June'21, 30 days prior to completing my 6 months. Reason being the birth of my grandchild.
Few days back I got the notification regarding the approval letter.
I did my medical as well yesterday. Not sure, if IRCC is waiting for medical to re-process the application.

IRCC isn't going to reprocess your application. The length of the extension you have been granted is on the approval letter you have received.

The medical was to cover the extended time you already received and the 30 days you have been given to leave Canada. If you asked for 1 year but were only a few months of extension there is a clear message from IRCC. If you asked to attend the birth of your grandchild, especially if you received PHAC, you were granted permission to attend the birth and a bit of an extension but now that the reason for your travel has ended you are expected to return home. Do you have a multiple entry TRV or were you given a single entry TRV with PHAC?
