I am a 61 year old unmarried Canadian Citizen. Can I sponsor my sibling who is 57 years old never married? Both my parents are deceased and I do not have any other close relative in Canada. If yes, how long is the process.

If you meet the requirements and have no children and have never been married or divorced, it may be possible. Can take a couple of years to process.

There is no exact processing time due to Covid. Search for forum because if you aren’t sponsoring an orphaned relative you have looking at at least 24 months or more. Your sibling has to go through medical (no major health issues), police checks etc. You can do it yourself.

You take on their financial support for 20 years.
