Hi,

My husband has a Canada PR and will be traveling this weekend, after which he will be applying for a spousal PR for me. We have been living together since march 2020 together post our marriage, but he will recently leave and be in Canada, while I will be in India, what should I select as the correct answer to this question In the document checklist, page 8, Q7 (a)?
Also, if I have to select NO, how do I submit proofs of traveling and exit/entry stamps when I do not have any Canadian visa as of now?
Please help. Thanks

Since you won't be living together when he files, not living together. You can include a letter of explanation that you were living together between [dates] and supporting information - it will likely help your file as supports genuine relationship. (In fact I'd provide the same information basically as if currently living together even if not technically required)

Not sure I understand second question - if you don't have exit/entry stamps to Canada, don't provide those. If you're asked to provide those for other countries (travel history requirements vary by country), provide those.

Thanks a lot for your response and sorry I wasn't clear enough.

If we select 'No' as an option, then how do we submit proofs such as social media chats, letter etc. and travel records to show that we visited each other as we have been living in the same house for more than 1.5 years now.

We have been in relationship from last 10 years and have social media chats before we got married in March 2020. Will I need to submit those?

This is why I'm suggesting letter of explanation and evidence of you living together - use instructions for residing together - and then supplement with the other stuff, use your judgment.

Eg write explanation that husband resided with you for twenty plus months and proof of that and that's why not providing your travel records.

In each case respond but modify to fit your circumstances. Where possible comply with even modest info but eg your shared expenses will je better proof than five year old chat records

Thanks alot for the explanation, I will definitely include these details along with social media chats.
Also, if you can help me with one more question: I was planning to apply for TRV( trying my luck !), before I apply for outland sponsorship . In case my TRV application remains stuck as the processing time is quite high these days( 216 days) can I start my PR application in parallel? Or will there be any conflict?
Also, is there a portal to apply spousal PR application online or it has to be done manually?

Thanks in advance

Note I haven't looked at the specific requirements recently as they fit your case - wherever you have choices that fit better, do that of course - but as far as eg social media chats, what I was trying to say is try not to leave out anything that is formally required; then explain and supplement if you have better. (And if you don't have specific things at all, explain and add/substitute where it makes sense)

Fine to apply for trv in parallel.

There is a pilot programme to apply online, i.e. it's testing and may require figuring things out.

I'm not kidding when I say: if you can't find it on the internet yourself, you should not be using an online pilot programme.
