Hello to All,

I was asked to provide color pages of passports and I did so. My local office is SCR. Now it has been nearly 2 months no feedback or further update. I sent the pp copies by registered mail and obtained delivery signature as proof of receipt.

Can someone advise me if I need to followup via web form / call them or wait.

Appreciate to share your experience and advice.

I got my first passport request from MTL office on August 19th 2021, on September 8th I got the exact same request from Surrey office and on October 22nd I received a request for additional information. In my case, all requests indicated documents should be sent as PDFs, I did not send anything by regular mail.

Did you see we have a new Minister of Immigration, refugee and citizenship? Not that this gives me any hope, but I wish he can make things better.

Have you ever emailed your local office regarding your application status? I emailed the London office last night and received a reply early this morning. They told me that my application has been recently reviewed and approved. Just in the queue for the ceremony now. They don't have ETA for it tho... it says in a couple of months...

Someone I know emailed Scarborough office last week requesting an update and what stage the application is at and when they can expect it to be finalized. This was the response they received;

I didn’t even know I could do it.
Your local office email address is in the citizenship test PDF. I just realized it last night. And our local office only reply to applications that were sent over 2 years ago. Give it a try, guys! Local office is very responsive!

When I received passport requests from MTL office, the email clearly said that that email account was only used to receive passport copies and that all other inquiries would be deleted. Surrey office has a different response (they do seem open to talk to applicants if they have crossed the 2 year mark):

"Due to the high volume of emails we receive, we will NOT be replying to your emails if your inquiries fall into the following categories:

***If your email does not include your application number,*** you must include your application number in the subject line or body of your email.
ONLINE CITIZENSHIP TEST
· If you are having technical problems accessing your online knowledge test, please contact IRCC.CitOnlineTest-TestenligneCit.IRCC@cic.gc.ca for assistance.
· If requesting to be rescheduled, we will only respond to you when we approve your request to be rescheduled.
SUBMITTING DOCUMENTS
· If you are providing requested documents, we will not provide you with a confirmation of receipt. We will contact you only if we require additional information.
APPLICATION STATUS AND ALL OTHER INQURIES

· If you are inquiring about the status of your file, please note we will only provide status updates to clients who applied more than 2 years ago.
