Hello... My husband was applying for work in Canada (Mcdonalds) but he was hesitant because of the scar in his lungs due to PTB way back 2003 but was treated already. They have annual check ups and xray . His result is always negative but the scar was still there.. Will he forget his dream to work in Canada or there is still a chance despite his medical history.. I will really appreciate your efforts in replying.. Thank you in advance..

Is your husband outside of Canada?

Are you sure the job offer is real?

He is from the Philippines and he was still looking for an agency where he can apply. Is it possible that he will be accepted, despite the scar? Your response is very much appreciated.

I think @scylla is asking you if your husband is applying for this job from outside of Canada. If he is through an "employment agency", then that is a huge red flag that the job is a scam because a legitimate agency does not bother with low-skill entry-level jobs. If he is inside of Canada, then I don't think his medical condition be a barrier to employment for a fast food job, unless he has trouble breathing even when doing simple tasks. For these types of jobs, the applicant would usually just apply directly through the website, or ask for an application from the restaurant itself.

It's possible for him to be accepted.

However these agency jobs are almost all scams. Be extremely careful.

These are some of the signs of a scam: (1) They ask you for money; (2) They promise that flight / accommodation / food costs will be covered; (3) You get the job very easily; (4) They use terms like "CIC" or talk about the embassy or consulate being involved.

If you have a written job offer, post it here. Very high chance it's fake and they are just scammers after your money.

Thank you for all your replies .. He is applying inside Canada.. I will post it here as soon as he will start to apply. I am so positive now that his scar is not a hindrance to applying... Thank you. I am so honoured to receive a reply from all of you.

He may need to take additional tests which will take more time. However as long as his TB isn't active, it should't be an issue.

Do post the job offer once it's available so that we can help to ensure it's genuine.
