I’m not giving a misinformation. There are 2 Filipinos who arrived thru LMIA here during the pandemic. BUT they are NOT eligible for PR UNLESS they apply thru HCCP too. They just spent more money just to get here.
My point is: UNLESS they will apply for HCCP they cannot stay here in Canada as PR. So where is the misinformation here?
You wrote this —- “Read this link: it mentioned TFW as temporary. It means, you can still enter (without your dependents) in Canada and work temporarily as a caregiver.”

They are not eligible for PR because they don’t have the 24 mos of work experience just yet and they won’t be either in HCCP because their destination is Quebec.

Yes. They are considered as TEMPORARY here and need to leave before their expiration. But they are both caregivers. So i dunno how she got here this year thru LMIA.
well, we’re just talking about one person here. She has an extra money, that’s why she applied BOTH program.
She’s NOT in quebec, she’s in Maple Ridge BC

Actually, about TFW. It’s NOT a big deal. Because NO ONE would want to risk wasting money here. So no need to be hysterical. I’m just sharing that there’s ONLY one who took the risk of wasting money to get here thru TFW within 6 months of application. I wish I can give her name, so that you can ask her directly how did she got here thru LMIA as a nanny.

But if you really want to get here WITHOUT dependents at the span of 6 months only and you have LOTS of money to risk, go ahead. There’s no guarantee that you will be approved in TFW tho. One person testimony is not enough

You are saying beyond what’s written in the law. You don’t make sense anymore. What are you saying; to come here without dependents and money and risk? What logic is it?

Then i don’t know how did they enter here as a caregiver thru LMIA earlier this year and worked in Maple Ridge.

Employers could hire a TFW caregiver overseas if they applied for LMIA prior to June 18, 2019. We have to remember LMIA is valid for 6 months. So they could have applied for a work permit at the latest Nov 2019. With pandemic delays to consider, it could have taken months to get a work permit.

Correct me if I'm wrong, workers have a year from date of medical to leave the country?

Also, in the Philippines, they have to apply for OEC and such to be allowed to leave the country. That's another few months of processing and delay.

So with all the delays, I won't be surprised if someone just came this year. Probably one of the last LMIAs processed for caregivers from overseas.

Probably. Wow, that’s 2 years of waiting for just a temporary work permit.

As of June 18, 2019, we’ll no longer process new work permit applications to work as in-home caregivers if:

  • you’re applying from outside Canada
  • you’re applying through the TFWP
  • you’ll be working outside of Quebec, and
  • your employer applied for an LMIA on or after June 18, 2019

I personally know someone whose work permit was processed Summer or Fall of 2019. LMIA was approved July 2019 (it was filed prior to cut off).

This person arrived in Canada, Summer of 2020

Hmm, it makes sense now. I was also surprised too when she told me that she came here with LMIA this year. So yes, I understand now that maybe she processed it 2 years ago. And with the Philippines’ corruption, it took her a long time to leave the country. Well, it happened to my cousin, she already have the visa sticker, but Philippines won’t allow direct hiring (my sister processed the LMIA and everything NOT the agency because it’s my auntie who was her employer). So my cousin paid an agency (THEY DID NOTHING) just to allow her to leave. Imagine paying an agency when you already have a visa sticker in your passport?! Just for formality sake, we swallowed our pride and waste money for agency WHO DIDNT DO ANYTHING.

That's very true. The employer has to get agency in Canada and the employee has to coordinate with agency in Philippines. Very ridiculous process
