Family PR now expired after 1 year of no show..! what's next..?!

I received email from the processing visa office regarding my family's sponsorship application that the COPR Visa is expired and not valid to enter Canada ,and they will contact us whenever they are ready to make re-assessment, and if any medical or police documents are expired they will request it again.

Based on above, my Q's:

1- what is meant by re-assessment, is marriage still valid, or going through the security background check...etc.

2- given the backlog from Covid-19 effects on IRCC and afghan refugees, how long will it take to reach the Passport request stage again.

3- if i want to cancel the application, shall i send a request to the processing visa office or shall the principal applicant send it over ( although i have authorization letter from the PA ) .

4- is there a way for the Canadian embassy in the country where my kids live, issue a entry visa to canada, if i show them there are family dispute and wife refused to continue the passport request to land in canada,hence my kids were victims of this individual act , which harmed me and my kids, my kids have passports of my country of origin while i have dual citizenship, so far i dont have custody nor my wife, but in this country sole custody is 99.9% given to the wife.

4. You need to have your wife's consent to have the children travel to Canada. If she is not willing to send her passport to complete the process, then IRCC won't issue visas for your children either. You would need to sponsor your children separately but will need your wife's consent to do this.

- she is not willing to come to Canada as we going through divorce in court, and most likey she will be given sole custody , we are in dubai and we are expatriates, i have canadian citizenship but wife and kids dont , how can i sponsor my kids seperately if she is have sole custody in a country where she is not local but on a work permit which leaves my kids vulnerable to be removed from that country if she loses her job which is not steady,

given that she signed and agreed to the family PR until the passport request stage , where i was waiting her for a year until they got expired,

would appreciate any help in this regard

Did you get Canadian citizenship before or after your children were born? If your children were born after you became a citizen, then they are entitled to citizenship by descent through you.

If your children were born before you became a citizen, then you do need to sponsor them for PR. The only way to do that is either for you to have sole custody of the children or for your wife to giver her consent.

You will have to wait until your children are older if your wife will not give consent for them to come to Canada and get PT. Previously agreeing to come to Canada when you were still married can not be used as some sort of promissory note that will allow your children to come to Canada. If you are no longer in a relationship you can’t sponsor your spouse or ex-spouse.
