Not sure if anyone's application relates to me. Applied in December 2020 and I got my test invite in July. Test passed in July. After a week, all checks are complete. Nothing new since then. Still application is in progress since first week of August 2021.

I sent a web request form to IRCC to get to know the status of my application and the reply I got from them is weird. They are busy in working on paper work for Afghanistan returnee's and until then please be patience and we are processing your application in a normal pace.

God... please help this govt

Unfortunately, you’re wrong…

“Your processing time starts the day we receive your complete application and ends when we make a decision.”

Oath is the different story…
Might as well say.......we have decided that you are a Canadian on principle but not on paper, hey it's the thought that counts.

Sounds awfully similar to that woman whom you want to be your wife but don't want to marry to make it official because of a variety of reasons......we're sleeping together and have a kid, but not married....lol

:) I like your analogy but it’s not exactly the same too.
Imagine the situation. You have to urgently be in your country of origin because of some reason, e.g. helping your parents. Today is September but in October your physical presence in Canada in last 5 years drops below 730 days. You’re called for oath in November. The officer at the border reports you, after that, if I’m not mistaken, you don’t have a right to take the oath because the process of the PR revocation was initiated…
So long wait before the ceremony is another reason for IRCC to get rid of some applicants…

Hi, just found this thread. I'm a March 2020 applicant, I passed my test in March 2021 and has been waiting since then. There doesn't seem to be anything happening on my file, it's been 6 months and I haven't received a DM, would anyone have a clue of what might be going on? Is this normal, is anyone else stuck in limbo like me? Many thanks

If it wasn't UP, your file is of low priority. There are a lot of 2018 and 2019 applicants here still waiting. In your case, I would expect the oath in 2022 (if you check the spreadsheet, some 2020 applicants are receiving application updates about the oath scheduled for 2022). I hope I'm mistaken though...

Soon the "COVID excuse" will gradually morph into the "election excuse", then "snow excuse", after that God knows what...

I asked them to do the test outside Canada, so they responded:
An absence of Canada has been added to your file. Please send us proof of your departure from Canada at your earliest convenience.

Please send us a copy of your plane ticket, boarding pass and passport entry stamp after your return to Canada.

To proceed with the online test from your location outside Canada you can access the link in the test invitation that was previously emailed to you within the specified time period.
any of you received the same?

I think you should do what they say.

To proceed with the online test from your location outside Canada you can access the link in the test invitation that was previously emailed to you within the specified time period. Means you were approved.

An absence of Canada has been added to your file. Please send us proof of your departure from Canada at your earliest convenience. Scan (or take a photo) and send the requested docs via a web form (it's possible to attach the documents). Don't forget to convert to PDF their email and attach it too. I think It's better to send everything as one PDF document with their email as a front page.

Please send us a copy of your plane ticket, boarding pass and passport entry stamp after your return to Canada. Do this when you come back.

Just a question ?
you think that every thing should be done after I get back to Canada or they mean I should send "proof of your departure from Canada" now?
