After countless hours of googling I found out that IR stands for International relations. So Ottawa International Relations office
I received an e-mail that our application was moved to Ottawa IR. I thought it's the same as Ottawa Visa Office. I called up IRCC and the agent I spoke with said that Ottawa IR is a "new office", it's a "virtual office" she said, and that it's different from Ottawa Visa Office. I was curious too. She said all succeeding correspondence will be coming from Ottawa IR (unless of course, they move our application again to another visa office). Hoping for the best!

Finally an agent who knows what it is!!
Provided that it's virtual, I pray they process super fast!! I mean I still haven't gotten any medical after 4 months and finally got line 2 on ecas like 2 weeks ago. So I'm praying they work fast.

Did the agent tell you anything else? Like how fast they could be? Or what has been completed on your file?

She can't give me an answer on the processing time. But she confirmed that Ottawa IR is a new and different office so I guess we cannot rely on the ongoing trend of processing time for the Ottawa Visa Office. I know of several applicants whose files were moved to Ottawa IR as well.

Ottawa VO was new and now I guess temporary - and track record was all over the place anyway, so not sure it's trends provided much info anyway.

Oh, thanks for that info. I didn't know Ottawa VO was new. Yes, I agree, timelines vary nowadays.

Our ecas updated to line 3 stating a letter has been sent to you in mail on Aug 4. I'm assuming it's the medical request letter since we haven't received one yet.

AOR - April 26th

Hello.

Line 4 of my ECAS shows a letter which has been sent to me. I didn't not receive it. Did anyone receive such letter?

  1. We received your application for permanent residence on May 3, 2021.
  2. We started processing your application on June 29, 2021.
  3. We sent you medical instructions on June 10, 2021. To avoid delays, please provide us the information requested in the letter as soon as possible. Please consider delays in mail delivery before contacting us.
  4. We sent you a letter on July 15, 2021. Please consider delays in mail delivery before contacting us.
Did you get this letter yet?

The letter that we received says to link our paper application to our online account. We have a representative on our file who will get disassociate if we do that.

@legalfalcon - it seems like they're instructing us to take over the application from a representative. Does that make any sense? Why would they not want an application to be handled by a rep? Would it make a difference if we link it online? Please advise.

Your representative should add it to his account.

We just got a medical request letter. However, due to the community quarantine in Metro Manila, we are unable to get a schedule within 30 days of the letter. How will we request extension? TiA

How long do people usually wait to receive their next step medical request after doing biometrics? Is the visa office Ottawa IR slow?
