My friends are suggesting me to call IRCC. Is it a good idea, considering they only accept calls from Canada. Won't this raise questions?
Dont worry, many are doing this. I did it too, but the waiting is too long.

The final voice note says "We are experiencing a high volume of calls, you may hang up or wait" -It disconnects after this.
I think we need to try a few more times to reach them

Calling CIC by using TextNow App*

1- *CIC call centre* via TextNow App
1-888-242-2100

2- English *press 1*

3- immigration *press 1*

4- transfer to citizenship and imm can processing application *press 1*

5- status or processing times *press 1*

6- become permanent resident *press 2*

7- application starts with E *press 2*

8- then enter *application number* followed by #

9- listen to the entered number and *press 1* to confirm

10- enter the *year of birth* and then listen the entered number and *press 1* to confirm

11- hear the details

12- then *press 1* to check status (there will be a pause)

13- hear detailed status at the end *press 0* to speak to agent

What is my Visa Office?
Is Eligibility Passed? When?
Is Security Passed? When?
Is Criminality Passed? When?
What is the status of Background Check?

I wanted a break before studying. But all of this is considering everything works out!
I also want to spend some time with my family before I leave if I get visa. But it looks like this process takes minimum 3 months even if its SDS. So 3 months from now is mid November, there is no way I can serve 2 months and be there for mid Jan classes :( Looks like I have to seriously plan for this now

You got any update ?
Couldn't reach any agent as the call keeps dropping. However, I did get a reply to a Technical difficulty CSE I had sent. It's super vague though. I'll post some of it below. I am still not sure if they have my biometrics or not.

Thank you for contacting Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC).

We verified the information you provided and can confirm that your application is still in process.

Due to COVID-19, IRCC is experiencing processing delays and we can't give accurate processing times for most types of applications. We're currently prioritizing applications from people who are exempt from travel restrictions.

We understand that this may be a difficult time for you and we are here to assist you by providing you with the information we have available at this time.

If an application is complex, it may take us longer to process it. It will also take longer to process an application if we need you to submit extra documents.

Rest assured that we are making all the necessary efforts to finalize your application as soon as possible, and that you will be informed when a decision is reached or if additional information is needed.

We hope the information provided is helpful in assisting you with your enquiry.

This seems to be a very general copy-paste style reply. But if there were an issue with the biometrics that you have given, they would have asked some action from your end. I guess they have to update them. Thats it.

Seriously, this wait is killing. Every time my phone vibrates to email notifications, I have a heart attack lol. But it's the general emails and not the IRCC hahaha...

I had a question for you guys, if you are going for Jan 2022 intake, then when are you guys planning to land in Canada considering it all happens in time. I am asking this because for Jan 2022 I feel there is still time and you guys are raising web forms and calling. Here I have submitted my app in Aug and still waiting for biometrics and keeping calm. Am I missing something!! :(

You aren't missing anything :p

My biometrics haven't been updated in my account, I am concerned that I may have to do enrolment again which could cause delays.

Dude, what a mess! I think we need to build one Canada study permit temple here, like how we have one US visa temple in Hyderabad! :)
