Hi Everyone, I applied in Aug 2019 and just got the notification to attend the oath ceremony in Dec 2021. Just wondering if anyone can share the email address in the oath invite email to reschedule the oath ceremony for Scarborough Office? I will leave Canada due to work in October and it would be very difficult for me to travel back to Canada (especially during COVID) and take the oath in December. Thanks in advance!

Hi everyone. I applied in October 2020. My test result was approved on June 14th. Today I checked my application status on the online tracker and everything has been updated to completed, my case was approved yesterday apparently. Only ceremony remaining. Ecas also shows decision made.

Hi friends, I need your advise. For people who completed their oath ceremony already, any idea if they give you the option, while in the ceremony, to pick up the Citizenship certificate from their office instead of them sending it by mail?

If I'm not mistaken, I recall that they used to hand the certificate of citizenship during the ceremony.

That's when the citizenship ceremonies were in-person. Now, they mail the certificate to your home address.

So far, the only known report from an applicant suggests that Ottawa is the only office that allows this. I have never heard back from anybody else from any other office being allowed to pick up the certificate in-person.

I will try this option on August 23rd (my application is in Mississauga office) and I'll let you know if they permit it. I need my citizenship certificate urgently.

Hello

Today I received email from Scarborough office saying I have to submit my passport copy or travel documents and they told me to mail it to them in 30 days with that letter.

Is it normal ?

do I have to submit Work permit or COPR copies?

Is it normal when they request a copy of passport ? And also do we have to mail them or email because some people in past have emailed them but in my email they have mentioned to courier it with the letter

Yes, this is normal.

You should follow the instructions on the letter that you received. For me, I was asked to email it so I did. If you are specifically asked to courier/snail-mail it to them, then you should probably do that.

Good luck!

Thanks for the reply.

One more question. I did went to states on December 23rd 2019 (For 3days) and they stapled small white page in my passport can I take that off or not? And the stamp when I was visiting USA looks blurred and not proper (May be the officer was in rush or something) , so that’s going to be fine ?

I guess you can leave it as-is. And if the stamp is blurred, you can't help it. It wasn't your fault so don't stress about it. But scan all pages and send them over.

Fantastic, thank you for your help!
Also another option if they don't allow you to pick up. When I finished my oath back in May, I needed my certificate urgently and the agent agreed to send it to me urgently. They sent it to me via purolator overnight and was arrived in barely 36 hours after the oath. If you need it urgently and they won't let you to pick it up, this is certainly another option you can consider.
