I know many of you guys have been scheduled for oath anywhere between 2 - 4 months from the current date and it'll be a while before you receive your oath email. If I were in that position, I'd be extremely curious to know what exactly is in the oath email - all of the instructions that'll help you prepare for the ceremony.

Hence, I have redacted all my personal and office-specific information from the oath letter and I have shared it below. Take a look. If you spot any sensitive (my personal information) or any other information that I might have accidentally left out without redaction, please let me know.

Please note that this letter was sent from Mississauga IRCC office. Other offices might have a slightly different format of the letter.

I have deliberately left out the "Oath or Affirmation of Citizenship" form because that form has been marked "Not for Public Release" and I can't (and won't) share that. So, please do not ask me for that form.

I hope we can use this thread to discuss about oath ceremonies in general rather than flooding unrelated threads with too many questions related to oath ceremonies.

I wish everyone all the very best!

Good luck!

Thank you for sharing. Just wow, how much difference can happen in just 3 months. When I received my oath invitation early May, there's no such letter. Everything was composed in an email, plus the instruction for e-signing and the oath of citizenship form as attachments. This is certainly very interesting to see. Everything is getting back on track now.

Yup, this letter is actually helpful. Has a lot of information relevant to the citizenship ceremony and explains in detail what needs to be done / what happens before, during and after the ceremony.

Exactly my thought. Looked at mine again, it was basically this but less detailed and was put in the email body. No IRCC heading as well. This is certainly looking very nice.

Thank you very much! Extremely helpful as I need to wait for November to receive this info;)
Now I'm well prepared!
Good luck with your Oath soon!

Hahaha I had the same thoughts. We were the early adopters/guinea pig batch.

I saw one poster claiming that family members are not allowed during the oath lately, so I checked this new one, but that doesn’t seem to be the case yet?

Family members are allowed if they are in the same room.

One applicant also mentioned that family members in other parts of Canada can also join using the link but I see no mention of that in the letter.

I got the same letter. In summary, collect scissors, permanent resident card, oath form, black pen and attend the oath and be present in Canada on the date of the oath. Anything I am missing?

I still haven't received the email. My ceremony is next week according to the tracker. Is this normal? I emailed the local CIC office asking for the email.
