I feel your pain :D I have done test 2 times. I got 8 in every other section apart of Reading which was only 6.5 and I could not understand that hahahahah :D My girlfriend had a lot better score in Reading, overall we are at 474.

She got annoyed as she also has to sit the Academic IELTS, she got her results back and writing was 6.5 where everything else was 7.5/8 :D
We went for evaluation and score did not change. We do not care much about the Academic however she needs to have min score band 7 across the different sections. Even few of my Irish native friends done worse than me :) I was actually asking myself if that test is actually testing your English skill only hahahah
Imagine what non-native people have to deal with when native people are struggling with IELTS lol

I am not native :) however I live in Ireland for 13 or 14 years :) This test is really tricky and it is not just made for the purpose of testing the level of your language skills. When I was doing Leaving Cert in Ireland the English test was a lot easier than that thing hahahahah how they will explain this? That High School last year English exam is easier than that s***

Hehehe; I wouldn’t call the IELTS tricky. Doing well in this test majorly depends on how familiar you are with the format of the questions and ofcourse, your prior level of English. Even native speakers can struggle if they don’t practice well enough.

I agree with that. However the amount of questions and the format of some texts is made purely to trick you out :) At the end, test it a test and it has to be done. I did not practice for it because of lack of time.

This is exactly right. IELTS requires specific skills to do well which can be learned through practice. Your level of English also plays a big role determining your IELTS score. You can’t do well if your language skills are good but you’re not familiar with the test and also vice versa. It has to be both.

I agree with that. However the test itself is a little bit over done in my opinion.

No; we saw 2 people residing in Pakistan get PPRs last week
There were many who received pprs in January and February 21 however I haven’t seen any new pprs for FSW-O this month.

Those “trick” questions are the difference between a 9 band candidate and a 7 band candidate otherwise everyone would be scoring 9s in IELTS

Isn't this the very first non-US PPR?
This is the first one I have seen where the user has given specific facts about their application and not given us the usual “knowing someone” or “heard of someone” who got PPR.

Let’s hope it is genuine and we see a trend start to develop soon across all Visa Offices in the coming weeks.

I would argue about it. I have met a lot of people whose English level is a lot worse than mine, however they got a higher mark than me ;) At the end it is the preparation for this exam that makes you to receive a high score. Even if you are native and you did not prepare for that test you will not score well ;)

You can get a 6/7 with good preparation with average English but its not possible to get a 8/9 score
