In any case I think fsw draws will start before the week of sept 20 because that week is when they issue PGP draws. I mean fsw should be higher in order of preference than PGP.
I really don't know about that anymore. The government views FSW very differently now. But yes, if it wasn't all a lie when IRCC explained that the situation with FSW was only due to travel restrictions, since the restrictions will have been lifted on Sept 7, FSW should continue on or before that date. We'll see.

Thanks for the video. But if I haven't missed anything he only talks about spousal visas. I couldn't see any hope for FSWs in what he said in the video.
62 new visa officers and they are prioritizing spouse pr sponsorship. So we should see some movement after that hopefully

They probably had separate depts for different visas but the famous "we're using all our resources for CEC" on IRCC's website suggests that right now most of the officers are working on CEC apps. I really do hope people manage to put pressure on the minister because it's unacceptable that he's been literally ignoring a whole branch of people for 7 months. It's not difficult to disclose future plans. People may not like those plans but it's preferable to not knowing anything.
When they say "all resources for cec" do you think they also mean visa offices outside Canada. I mean I doubt eg ndvo would be working on cec apps they prob move immigration dept over to processing study permits and then back to immigration I could be entirely wrong though.
Moreover fsw people have been reporting ghost updates and remedial requests so someone is working on these files

Most of the backlogs are all passed except security so yeah, IRCC doesn't actually have too much workload from the backlogs. But for some reason IRCC hasn't been starting security in FSW applications, which is to freeze those applications. The public should somehow put pressure on the officials as there's no explanation for FSW people being put on hold under the current circumstances where even tourists are now given pass. People need clear plans and explanations.
For a long time, my application was put on hold after all stages passed except security. Only until recently, I started to see some movement. Last month I received a request for re-medical as well as several ADRs. It wasn't just me but a lot of applicants got the same update from the London VO. I received my GCMS notes last week which seem to indicate my security is also completed.
This is a lot of positive movement after a year-long hiatus and this is why I'm not overly critical of IRCC right now. It's only been a couple of weeks since I submitted my documents, if my app gets stuck again for the next 6 months, I will hop on your boat to crucify IRCC and Mendicino lol.

Hi all, I am not going to be either pessimistic or optimistic, but only realistic. FSW is not going to open this year. My main concern is the lack of transparency from the Canadian govt and why the politicians are keeping mum on this topic.

To simply put, we are all a part of the economic immigration program and FSW is not good for (Canadian) economy. A lot of migrants move without any significant investment in Canada and end up remitting money back to their families. The local population also has to compete with these harder working foreign-born Canadians.

What is good for the economy are international students, for obvious reasons, hence why CEC is specifically tailored to suit their needs.

Then why FSW was running at all, you may ask? The only reason was pressure from foreign-born Canadians who are somewhat a part of the govt/ministers and also local businesses which needed foreign workers.
But now, the pandemic has given the govt a justifiable excuse to show their true colors. FSW will be avoided for AS LONG AS POSSIBLE and to the maximum extent.

I will make another post for anyone who's losing points due to age, on how they can still make the move without a heavy investment towards their education.

Great news! What's your stream and AOR date? I doubt you'll get stuck again, or not as badly as you did before. I hope your case goes well but no news will change the fact that both IRCC and the minister ignored, disrespected, and lied to FSW applicants and candidates for at least 7 months. I even think the minister should resign for treating people like animals and messing up the otherwise well working immigration system.

I'm FSW-O applicant from Pakistan. You're right, they messed up big time with their handling of the FSW apps. Things could have been a lot better if they were more transparent with their policies which is the least that is expected of them. Keeping silent on their most popular immigration pathway while prioritizing other streams seems to have exacerbated the whole situation.
Still, I think all hope is not lost. It's only a matter of 1 draw before people will forget & forgive IRCC for their mess-ups.

So are you all stages passed now? If so, that's great considering you're FSW-O. Please post in a forum when you get your CoPR so we can know things are moving.

I think so. My notes stated "RFV pending medical". What's great is not the completion of all stages but how recent these updates are.
I will update here once I receive the PPR.
