Hello,

I have a bachelor's degree in IT
And work experience as a software engineer.
I applied for student visa with a Pgd in project management. I have been refused. When I ordered the gcms notes, it stated that my choice of program is inconsistent with my previous education. That was the only reason given in the notes. I have received offer letter for a master's course in IT can I reapply under non SDS with the different course. Has anyone received visa by changing course.

That's a very common cause of refusal and you have addressed it properly. Make sure to explain it in your LoE/SoP -- you should be fine.

Yes, go ahead and apply with the new program. Make sure you cover the reasons why opted for PM in the first place, as well as the reason you've decided to now go for a relevant Masters program (don't say it's because you read what was written in your GCMS notes. Be more creative with your reason).

I have written that with pm there were job prospects as it project manager but this new course is more valued in my home country in terms of jobs.
Is that okay.

Have you re-applied? What is the result now? I also got the refusal for fall, 2021 intake. I am also a Software Engineer having 8 years of experience. I enrolled for a PG Diploma Cyber Security program of 2 years. I thought the Project Mgmt program would best match for me but I found you got the refusal for it. Did you attach the SOP with your file? My consultant didn't add the SOP, this was really disappointing. I hope that you got your visa.

I reapplied with a related course but got refused. This time the reason was no motivation to study. Yes, I attached sop with my application.

Why don't you apply directly for PR.

I can't get ITA because my age is 32 now. I created a post where I included all the details of my profile and study visa application. I would appreciate it if you help me by sharing your valuable tips. following is the link to the post:

Have you looked into Provincial nominations? I'm guessing your NOC is 2173. If your education/qualification is relevant to the noc, you can check out the Saskatchewan nomination program (SINP).

I know about these programs but they are just like a lucky draw. If the applicant has anyone there who is a citizen or PR they have more chances to get the ITA.

PNP is not a lucky draw. It's based on your qualifications and experience. Yes, you do get extra points for having family who has lived in the province for at least 12 months but you don't need to. I am way older than you, no family in SK and recently got nominated for SINP. You should put in the effort and research to see what your options are.

Oh really! that is nice, finally, I got someone who got selected in PNP. Sure, I will go for it after re-applying for the study permit. Would you mind sharing your IELTS score and job profile like in which industry do you work?

Thank you, your IELTS score is outstanding. In the IELTS academic, I got only 7. I need to work hard on IELTS. What was your point when you got ITA?
I did IELTS General.

My EE profile was sitting at 398 (lost more points when I turned 44 in January. My husband is 45 years and included in my profile). The nomination from SINP gave me 600 points. Points at ITA was 998.
