My Employer Specific Work Permit has expired and I want to restore my status and get a Open Work Permit. What application do I need to complete and do I need to do one application for Restoration and another for Open Work Permit???

On the basis that due to Covid-19 I was let go from my Job. I did not have the opportunity to work a full year to become eligible for CEC.

But if you are on a closed work permit and let go that doesn’t make you eligible for an OWP. You need to find another employer with LMIA and apply for closed work permit.

Unfortunately this doesn't qualify you for an open work permit.

You can restore your status but it will have to be to visitor status.

Yes - if you can find an employer who will give you a job offer and who can also obtain an approved LMIA, then you can switch back to a closed work permit.

It seems as though you arrived in 2019 and were let go a few months after that. What have you done for the rest of the time?
