468 draw happened but we missed it on tie breaker rule. Ah, i dont see the results anymore. It brings only upsetting effect on mind...
Tell me about it mate… I missed the Australian invitation few years back just becoz of delay of 2 days and the score never ever came down after that.

If it wasn’t for that I would’ve been sitting right now on some beach Saturday arvo enjoying Carlton draft beers lol

Nonetheless, let’s c how things pan out in new financial year.

Actually, i sat for ielts on september and by ybe grace of Almighty, at the very first chance i scored CLB-9, then my portfolio was created on october 8, 2020. After that got very few draws of FSW and last one on december 23, came up with 468 but tie breaker rule ruined it for me. After that the draw never happened for FSW and tomorrow um gonna loose another 5 points as its my birthday. So i kinda left it from my head. Cause only by miracle i can get ITA even if draw resumes

Not able to understand why OINP puts a range and if you are over higher threshold then you are not invited , very irrational but looking for other inputs as well. You set up lower range but why to set up upper range , not sure .
Haha a nice loophole indeed. But how legal is that?
It might not work the same way for the French stream if your French isn’t your first language. But still a great idea!!

From my personal experience, I think we should just do whatever we can with the time we have in our hands. Things may improve or get worse, but let’s use the time we’ve got to make the most of it.

In immigration, I’ve seen way too may people just waiting for things to happen than actually making things happen… my personal thought. Time is the most important asset.

Thank you!

Looks like I need a job offer to be eligible for ONIP.
Job offer is required for non EE streams only which are paper based and inland, it is not required for EE streams. They have been exclusively inviting FSW candidates only most of whom are outlanders but the score range is between 450-467.

Growing Backlog Of Canada Citizenship Applications Caused By COVID-19 Delays

A growing backlog of applications during the COVID-19 pandemic last year means permanent residents are waiting longer to become Canadian citizens, a CBC report reveals.

The Canadian public broadcaster’s news reporters went through internal Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) e-mails. In doing so, they discovered the backlog of permanent residents ready to take the citizenship test rose by about 17 per cent from 87,000 in March last year to 102,000 at the start of this year.

The news team also discovered there were more than 311,250 people waiting to go through the application process for citizenship at the end of January. A third of them, 102,989, had been waiting for between 13 and 18 months and as many as 865 had been waiting for more than four years.

Canada Immigration System To Go Fully Digital
“My vision for our immigration system going forward is that it is completely virtual and touchless and that each and every one of these steps is integrated so that we become the envy of the world,” he said in an online interview with TVO earlier this year.

Canada is already a world leader in putting its immigration processes online, he said.

“In a world that is increasingly going virtual, we are leading the way, especially when it comes to our immigration system,” he said in that interview. “We are the only ones that have moved our citizenship ceremony online, to my knowledge, and now we are also moving into the digital space when it comes to testing applicants.”

As early as Canada Day last year, the country was ready to hold its first-ever simultaneous, virtual citizenship ceremony. During the COVID-19 pandemic, that ceremony on July 1 was specifically for healthcare workers.

Since then, Canada has upped its digitization of the immigration process. In an e-mail to CBC News, the IRCC reportedly noted it had sent out 65,893 online test invitations by the end of this April, and almost 43,700 people had completed their citizenship tests.

Although immigration fell off drastically last year due to COVID-19 border and travel restrictions, Canada has raised immigration targets to bring in more immigrants than ever.

Ottawa Bullish On Immigration
The federal government wants to welcome more than 1.2 million newcomers between 2021 and 2023. There are to be 401,000 new permanent residents to Canada this year, 411,000 next year, and 421,000 in 2023.

Earlier this month, the immigration minister said he’s confident Ottawa will be able to hit those targets.

“When I tabled the immigration plan a little while ago, we could have put a pause, we could have reversed, we could have cut immigration but I believe, I firmly believe and our government believes that through immigration we will continue to grow,” he said.

“I am confident that we can hit the levels that we have set … I’m confident because we are innovating at quantum speed … We have created new policies that will allow people into the country but in a manner that is safe.”

Given the current rate of vaccination, the Canada - USA border will open June 18 - 20.

The good news keep on coming.
What??? Based on what exactly? The pace is very slow right now Canada have only 5% of their population fully vaccinated , how they will reach 75% of population fully vaccinated in less than a month and half , be real.. even the US who have been vaccinated people at full speed and capacity since three months now haven't reached 75% of people fully vaccinated, they are currently standing at 40% ..

A more realistic prediction of 75% people fully vaccinated target in Canada would be met in September maybe.. maybe before but not in June 20th for sure.

The last article I read they were talking about 75 / 20 for the end of june. Aka 75% first shot and 20% fully vaccinated.

Maybe it was what elvisramaj was talking about. Seem possible as the vaccination rate is accelerating but still optimistic...

You have definitely not been following the trend... the threshold is 75/20, 75% first dose.. and 20% full vaccination. Out of the 75, Canada has done almost 50%. Ps.. you can’t be comparing the US with Canada in terms of percentage, the US has a population of 328 million, Canada is barely 38 million, so if the rate of vaccination which has been going at a commendable pace continues... Canada will always reach the threshold before US. Come out the dark!
