Hello everyone,
I have a question and would really appreciate it to have some advice. My fiance lives in Denmark and I am going to sponsor him through the family sponsorship. I am wondering what the chances are to get a visitor visa for him while we wait for the PR?
Thank you.
The chances are very very low as he has ties in Canada more than Denmark which is you. You have to prove as much as you can that he won’t stay in Canada. You have to keep into consideration that ircc isn’t prioritizing visitor visas at the moment . It can take up to a year to get a decision compare to a few weeks or even less prior to COVID.

Note you cannot sponsor your fiance, only spouse or common-law partner. Common law requires living together for a minimum of 12 months, and realistically, marriage may be the only way.

Visitor visa: depends on many factors, if he is not from a visa waiver country.

In addition: right now as fiance he cannot travel to Canada without a specific authorization as 'extended family.'

If he cannot get visitor visa to come to Canada to marry, you may have to travel to him.

Yes it is. I’ve noticed on the tracker that 95% of applicants from India get Medical prior to AOR or same time as when the receive the AOR same day or a day after. Most other applicants from other country usually have to wait until it gets transferred to the VO. You also probably got SA but you never received the email, and they didn’t update it. They don’t ask for a medical unless the sponsor is approved.

Great news!! My husby got his BIL request via GCKey!! Woohoo!!

One more question when your PA application on ECAS changed from in process to application received did you have the line 2 saying we started processing your application on so and so date ?

Congrats ? What’s your timeline ?
Did you get a email or did you check your Gckey randomly ?
Timeline in signature

I checked his email account (inbox and spam), nothing. I logged into his GCKey account "New Message" - Biometrics Collection Letter.
I haven't opened the message though lol I'll wait for my husby to call me after he completes his shift, so we open it together.

No I didn't. I'm actually about to log in ECAS to see if there any updates.

It still shows "Application Received" on PA's side. No updates.

You don’t have a number 2 line stating that they started processing your application , or you just have line 1 that they received your application? Thank you for your time in answering these question . It looks like everyone is different depending on the officer lol . Congrats though
