Hi mkaur92,

CIC website has indicated that' you should extend your visitor visa at least 30 days prior to the expiry date"

My spouse`s visitor visa will expire on 06/05/2021. We are planning to submit it next week through online( so 2 weeks prior to expiry date).

I am just wondering if that would be fine since it has passed the 30 days mark. Not sure if anyone in this forum have submitted after 30 days mark.

Javis
You are okay to submit it 2 weeks prior.

I got pre arrivals letter. Don’t know whtas that. And we need to do medical before final decision. It may take longer because right now they stopped requesting medicals.

Hello :)

Happy to find this forum and the spreadsheet, hoping someone might be able to offer some info.

Applied for sponsorship/permanent residency/open work permit for my chilean husband Sept 2020.
Received prospective application number Sept 28th and haven't heard anything since.

Because we heard about the extreme backlog with outland applicants (even though we are inland) we started to get worried, thinking that maybe our application wouldn't even be looked at till next year. So in April he applied for IEC - Working holiday permit. He got a response within a week and his application is now in process. He got a biometrics request for this and has completed those.

I'm just worried that somehow this will affect/delay the sponsorship/permanent residency/open work permit process? Anyone out there that can quell some of my (probably unnecessary) worry (because there are no real humans that I can reach at IRCC). The biggest issue may have simply been spending unnecessary cash on another application.

I paid the wrong amount apparently for my OWP and it was sent back. Do i pay for teh correct fees and just send back my original visa with the receipt of the correct payment made. If so, do i send it to the edmonton office where it came from or the original place in Ontario where i sent my entire PR application back in September?
Hey there! I’m an October applicant. I was curious about the September applicant’s timeline, so just jumped into this forum!! Things look the same with you guys!

Anyways, yes my OWP application returned back due to the same reason: underpayment of fee!!

You just have to pay the remaining amount. (If your current work permit has been expired, you’ll have to pay the restoration fee which is $200 along with the remaining amount).

Attach the fee receipt with the original application and a copy of letter that you got with the returned application package and send it to Edmonton( the address is mentioned in the returned letter). Yes that’s where the spousal work permit applications get processed.

Hope this helps!!

mostly they send pre arrival letter after medical and it is like a final step in this process.. but this time it's weird.
