Qatar airways doesnt fly into Toronto Pearson! I wonder how the plane mysteriously flew to Toronto with just indian students visible.

They would have done their first leg with Qatar airways and flown with their partner airline afterwards. Tag would have been from the initial leg.

I think most effective way is the one in AU and NZ...that will give feds results. I dont think there are enough supply (hotels) for 14days mandatory hotel quaranting

Very hard to implement because we aren't an island. People will enter the land borders like they already are.

They do. The flight is a code share with Air Canada.

The only other partner airline from Doha, Qatar to Toronto is Air Canada. Now i wonder if they all were on that flight, why didnt the crew members of air canada refuse to let them board considering its the national airline of canada!

It's a loophole that has been well publicized in the Canadian media. Direct flight are banned. But in-direct flights / transit flights are not and those from India and Pakistan are therefore still able to find ways to travel to Canada.

Here's one of those articles. There have been many on this topic since the ban was put in place.

Of course the US will now be out as a loophole starting early this week. But transit through other countries will still be possible.

Canada would have to adopt rules similar to Australia to really stop this. Canada's ban is on flights originating from India and Pakistan not on travelers originating from these destinations.

So basically apart from the strain that's there in India and Pakistan, all other virus strains in all other countries are 'ok' to arrive in Canada through direct or indirect routes?

Ideally no. But the B.1.617 strain is of greater concern that previous strains (referred to often as a "double mutation"). It spreads easier / faster, and seems to make people sicker (including young people).

For now Canada has suspended flights from India and Pakistan.... based on double mutation

B.1.617 Double mutant Virus has been detected in at least 10 countries, including the US, the UK, Australia and New Zealand. If you are specifically pointing at Indian Variant then that's B.1.618 which is Triple Mutant and currently only found in one state (West Bengal) of India.

I'm referring to 617.

Yes, 617 has already made it to Canada as well with a few dozen cases here at least. The concern with India is the prevelance of this strain in the population who have COVID. That's what other countries are trying to stop / prevent with the travel ban. Whether the travel ban actually accomplishes that is another story. I think it's hard to stop anything unless you do a 100% ban on travel and two week mandated government quarantine like NZ and a few others did.
