Principal application on ECAS still shows "In process"
But after contacting the Warsaw embassy 2 days ago we received a letter from them on GCKEY asking to submit passport to VAC and stated "The processing of your application for permanent residence in Canada is almost complete. You must complete the following steps within 30 days in order for our office to issue your Confirmation of Permanent Residence and, if applicable, your permanent residence visa."

The letter ended with "As you have now received a Confirmation of Permanent Residence (COPR) or have been notified to submit your travel documents in preparation for the issuance of a COPR, you are strongly encouraged to use free pre-arrival services funded by Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC)."

I suppose this means it's official and PR is approved?
Yes.

And congrats!
Thank you. This is Fantastic news.
We plan on submitting passport and photos next week when VAC opens on the 5th.
Do you (or anyone) know how long it takes from the time you drop off your passport to VAC until it is back in your hands?

I assume depends where you are but ballpark two weeks. Plus or minus a week. Based only on our experience (submitting twice - long story)

Yea, we are in Ukraine. Can only submit to VAC here through mail, who will then mail it back to us. No in person visits for now.
Since you seem to know the process, does the VAC send it to Warsaw, and then they send it back to VAC then to us, or does the VAC do the work here themselves?

The vac can't issue the visas, that must be done in embassy visa office. That might be in kyiv, or Warsaw.

I should have noted, this doesn't make any difference in terms of how you handle - you submit to your nearest VAC. They'll figure out where to send it and take care of that. I presume in Ukraine they return it to you afterwards by post or courier. The rest is local courier/logistics issues. Check carefully what the VAC needs in terms of forms and fees, the website is terrible (I found checking with them by chat function the only reliable way).

Also - note the photo size needed carefully, it is a different size I think than for visas and some other things.

Thanks again and since you've been through this.
When the form asks for updates or changes to the status of all accompanying family members
and the height and colour of eyes for principal applicant and all family members...

should we also fill out my information (sponsor) and our child? We are both Canadian citizens and were not listed in the application process.

Also, the height and eye colour information, is that just typed out on an A4 piece of paper?

No, no information the Canadian citizens or PRs needed - only for the applicant(s).

The height and eye colour info - any format but include name, dob, and UCI. Probably passport number I guess. The tombstone data.

Hello.

Does anyone know if it is possible to connect from Russia to Canada through EU countries, without a transit visa? (If you have a PR visa to land in Canada already)

Guys we won our appeal!!!! It was an ADR hearing. They said that our case will be processed in Toronto, not in Warsaw, and it’s supper backlogged so it’s gonna take up to a year but we are still extremely happy!!!! :p

Sincère congratulations. Super news. С праздником.
Thank you!! I really wish Warsaw had sent us a PFL so we could send more proofs as we did it for this ADR. They wasted so much of our time. I’m so happy and relieved that justice has been served today, but I am still in disbelief that Warsaw employees can make such mistakes which affect real people’s lives.
