Hi @legalfalcon I apologise for long message.

I received the survey email on 30 March 2020 regarding my PR application (CEC inland)

Today I called IRCC to ask them that I haven’t received anything from their side regarding my PR decision, even on my portal it does not shows any signs of final decision. So what is this survey all about. Agent told me that there must be some decision made on your file, but after looking into my file agent told me that final decision is still in process and all other stages are also passed. Moreover they have also assigned my secondary office to Etobicoke.

I am really confused with the IRCCs reply. I also want to mention here that I contacted my MP regarding my application and the reply Which was given by IRCC to my MP on 21 March was as follows :

“We can provide you with the following details about the status of your constituent’s application for permanent residence under the Canadian Experience Class:
· The application was received at the Centralized Intake Office in Sydney (CIO), Nova Scotia on January 20, 2020.
· The initial assessment to ensure your constituent's application is complete, has been finalized on January 20, 2020.
· The Ottawa office is currently reviewing the application and documents submitted to determine if your constituent and their family members meet the eligibility requirements under the class for which they have applied.

o the eligibility requirements assessment was finalized on May 28, 2020.

· The medical examination results were reassessed and extended until:

o March 9, 2022 for “name of applicants “ and

o February 25, 2022 for “name of applicant”

· The criminality verifications are currently valid.
· The security verifications are currently valid.

· Due to COVID-19, IRCC is experiencing processing delays and we can’t provide you with accurate processing times for this application. Rest assured that we understand how important this process is for your constituent and are making all the necessary efforts to finalize the application as soon as possible.

· The application is approved and your constituent will be sent instructions regarding final steps. We suggest they maintain their temporary status valid until the landing procedure can be completed.”

According to the above reply application is said to be approved. On whom should I rely ?
I'm in a similar situation. I got different responses every time I called the IRCC agents as well. After I got my GCMS notes, I finally got to know for sure what the status is.

This is the key information in the response:

"The application is approved and your constituent will be sent instructions regarding final steps. We suggest they maintain their temporary status valid until the landing procedure can be completed.”

Based on this your application is approved, you only have to wait for the final decision to be communicated from IRCC. If you are in Canada, which would mean that a COPR will be sent to you.

You will have to wait to get the COPR. There are many applicants who have he application approved in principle, but are waiting for a COPR / PPR.

You are right my friend. I can understand your situation very well that How does it feel to know copr got expired in the print queue itself. Nothing is in our hands, we are helpless in this case.

VFS Delhi (India) is taking approximately 2 weeks for Passport collection, after raising the web form. And another 2 weeks for passport to come back.
Visa is valid till the expiry of your Medicals.

thanks a lot. It means that in total it is 1 month to get the passport back. And how about the 1st day of visa duration on the passport? will it be the same day as they stamped and signed? for instance: they signed and stamped on 10th April which means your first day of visa duration is also 10th April?

It will be 2-3 prior to the date your approval date. My application got approved on 31-Mar-21 in online account but visa stamp date was 25-Mar-21.

Hello @legalfalcon
My FSW-O is RFV. However, I am applying for a study permit because I don’t want to miss out on the acceptance from Canada’s Western University (masters program)
My question, if I apply in the non SDS category, with:

1) IELTS score 8 overall

2) GIC account with 10k CAD (although not mandatory for non sds)

3) Sufficient proof of funds

4) Proof of token fee deposited in the university (not the entire year’s fee because my university computes the first semester fee requirement in August)

5) Reasonably prove that I will leave Canada after my education,

Do I have lesser chances of approval compared to SDS? Request you to pls throw some light on the merits of sds vs non sds applications.
