Hi Guys, I am keeping an eye on October 2019 application google form, not much of an activity for the last 3 weeks, does anyone know why? are they slowing down the test invites?

I cannot comment on this. I finished my high school here so attached my Ontario high school diploma. Never got any fingerprint request.
I submitted my CELPIP results, and yet had to provide FP and will have an interview.
the lady at the FP agency said common names can trigger FP request, which is my case. Can’t say about the interview. The only documents they asked me for it were my passaports.

I checked my email just now and really excited to see the oath invite sent on last Friday (Apr 2nd). Oath invite was sent to my email id alone and my spouse didn't receive any email yet, although the invite addressed both of us in the email.

Dear friends,

I was hoping you can assist with my application as it has so long and I dont know what to do. My citizenship application was received on Oct 28, 2019 and I was asked to write the citizenship test on March 19, 2020 which was later cancelled due to the pandemic. I sent a web enquiry to CIC asking why my application has not been processed since it has been over a year since I heard anything. Below is the response I got which seems to be a copy/paste answer and does not really address why my application has not moved. I know of people that have applied after me and got their citizenship. My PR card also expired in Feb 2021 and I had to apply for it to be renewed which is also pending.

Is this just a waiting game or can I do anything? I applied from Toronto btw. Any input would be appreciated

RESPONSE BELOW

Good day,

Thank you for contacting Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC).

We verified the information you provided and can confirm that your application to become a Canadian citizen (grant of citizenship) is still in process.

Due to COVID-19, IRCC is experiencing processing delays and we can't give accurate processing times for most types of applications. We're currently prioritizing applications from people who are exempt from travel restrictions.

We understand that this may be a difficult time for you and we are here to assist you by providing you with the information we have available at this time.

If you've already submitted an application to become a Canadian citizen (grant of citizenship), we invite you to visit our website to:

  • Check your application status,
    • the Client Support Centre agents cannot give you more information than what is available in the Client Application Status tool,
  • See where we're at with :
    • sending the acknowledgement of reception letters,
      • the date posted on our website is updated weekly,
    • processing during the pandemic,
      • the date posted on our website is updated weekly,
      • it is determined by looking at the applications we recently made a final decision on,
      • we then calculate the average date that we received those applications.
If an application is complex, it may take us longer to process it. It will also take longer to process an application if we need you to submit extra documents.

Rest assured that we are making all the necessary efforts to finalize your application as soon as possible, and that you will be informed when a decision is reached or if additional information is needed.

IRCC is working on giving you the most updated information as the situation evolves, and all our efforts are dedicated to answering your concerns. Our website is updated regularly as more information is made available.

Given these circumstances, we invite you to continue visiting our website regularly to receive up-to-date information as new announcements are made and to obtain information on travel restrictions and changes to our services that may affect you.

We hope the information provided is helpful in assisting you with your enquiry.

We would also like to suggest the following online services that might be helpful to you with any immigration, refugee and/or citizenship future requests:

Sincerely,

Sincerely,
Call them. You will likely hear that your application is test ready and everything is in order. But that is at least a way to learn whether there are any potential problems with it or not. Ask for status of all checks that they are supposed to do. Hopefully you'll learn more or get your file moving. Ah, ask them when you file was last touched. That is a huge embarrassment for them to acknowledge that it happened months ago as you will have all the rights to continue asking questions in the same direction. Not that it will necessarily help, but i) you'll learn current status of your app, ii) will potentially get it moving
