As per instructions given, scanned copy of photo is not allowed. If you click on help you will find below instructions for digital photo. For photographer info I used scan of receipt.

The photo must
  • be a colour digital photo (not black and white)
  • be taken within the last 6 months
  • be taken by a commercial photographer
    • You must also upload the photographer information.
    • Include the
      • name and address of the business
      • date photo was taken
    • We accept the photographer’s receipt or a text file.
  • have a plain white or light-coloured background
  • include the full front view of the head and tops of shoulders
  • clearlyshow your face
    • looking directly (square) at the camera
    • in the middle of the photo
    • with a neutral expression (not frowning nor smiling)
    • with your mouth closed
    • even if you wear a head covering
  • have a frame size of 50 mm x 70 mm (2 inches wide X 2- 3/4 inches long)
  • be between 31 mm (1- 1/4 inches) and 36 mm (1- 7/16 inches) from chin to top of the head
    • If there is hair or head covering, this goes from chin to where the top of head or skull is visible.
  • have a maximum file size of 4 MB
  • have a minimum image size of 420 x 540 pixels
  • have a file format of JPEG or JPEG 2000
You may wear

  • transparent (non-tinted) prescription glasses
    • Your eyes must be fully and clearly visible.
    • Do not wear sunglasses.
  • a head covering (your face must be fully visible)
  • hair accessories and make-up as long as it doesn’t hide your normal appearance
Do not

  • upload scanned photos
  • send us a picture of a paper photo
  • use a smart phone to take the photo
  • change the digital photo in any way
    • You may reduce the photo’s file size (maximum 4 MB).

Ok, got it. So basically you are uploading digital photo & then scan of receipt+photo together as evidence for photographer information?

Hello Everyone, i am getting the paper application ready for my family. I had made a mistake on one of the addresses for my work location on my application. Do i need to print entire application after validation? or just that page is sufficient

Can you please see your application online in ECAS (please try again tomorrow if you don't see it today)? Trying to confirm something.
Still nothing there!

Hi,
I have two questions if someone can help.

1. Q5 "Have you ever used (e.g. Alias, Nickname, previously married etc.)?" In the Application Guide it says that this question is optional:
"
We need to know all of the names you have ever used in order to verify your identity. If you used any other names other than the one being requested in your grant of citizenship application, print them in the chart.

Note: this question is optional, only complete it if it applies to you.
  • Examples: Name at time of birth, name before marriage, previous married names, married name, nick names or any other names you have used.
  • If you do not have a given name, leave this field blank. Do not enter “*”, “Not applicable” or “NA”.
  • You can add or remove rows as you need by pressing the plus sign (+) or minus sign (-) buttons.
  • If you have legally changed your name, see Appendix A – Changing the name on your document."

Does it mean that if I use/used only one name then I should leave it all blank?

2. They are saying that we should mention our "nick name". Does it mean like what my colleagues at work call me for example? They use English version of my middle name.

Thanks

are they asking for the receipt to be joined to the photos for people who are applying online!!
not joined. i did not know there was an option to upload another file. i thought there is only one file upload option so i need to join the photo and the receipt. but that is not the case.

I’d say reprint all pages as everytime you change any info, the numbers at the lower right changes and you need to validate it again. The numbers are the same on the barcode and on each pages lower right. Better reprint everything rather than the chance of returned docs. I’ve done reprinting the same page, it ended up missing one bullet question, all my family’s docs returned too.

Hello all,
While filing the online form regarding police certificate. It says I don't need one if I relocate to canada in the last 4 years.
So do I need to click No I don't need a police certificate and provide the same words stated on the website?

You don’t need to provide a police certificate if

you were in your country of origin immediately prior to becoming a permanent resident and landing in Canada, and
this time falls within the past 4 years
