The reason is very simple: It is personal property.
In normal times, they give you the copr along with your passport by default, they don't ask why you want it. it's your personal property.
Btw @Besttee , how long did it take you to receive copr pdf and pr card photo instructions email after you saw copr details on gckey?
also, have you received your card? it's been like a month for you.
please update us.

Okay. It was like 2weeks interval from the time of COPR upload on gckey (it was even emailed initially) to photos request. I haven't received PR card yet so fingers crossed.

well here is the weird thing, I got an automatic email that my application is updated, when I sign in nothing is uploaded.
did they send you pr photo instructions on GCkey not email? weird.

This happened with me yesterday got email but nothing was attached,, today i got another email tht ac is updated and they had attached the pdf.. hopefully ul get it by end of today

The time bar is not really accurate some people applications were finalized they got their PR but everything was still showing in process , I believe if everything is done than it wont take long , as per my understanding only security check is time consuming and it takes long for some people including me , I am sure soon you will reply back with good news

@Fadros today I received email regarding updating my GCkey but when I sign in nothing has been changed
I have only COPR information with validity date but with out any attachments....waiting waiting and waiting

The sad and worst things is when my overseas 2 daughters asking me when they may able to come Canada and reunite with me ? I have been saying the word “ soon” last 34Months ie since April 2018... I wish God will help me to proof the word “Soon” to my daughters!

You just have to go to ECAS and change your address from there and/or send a webform informing them of your new address.

All PR applications are processed at CPC-Mississauga, so it doesn’t matter where you live. Once CPC-M finalizes your application, your local IRCC office (where you will move to) will issue your CoPR.

GUYS! especially @Yessam07 and @Spogmey! Today I logged in my GCKEY and found COPR details ( No PDF ) and I haven't received an email yet and even the application status is not updated yet. It says it's issued today and valid until 22nd of October 2022 ( Year and 8 months !!! ).
No portal ( my mother had portal and her copr was valid for a month and got the card really fast ). No Approval letter ( DM ) but it says on GCkey they took decision on 3rd of February although I was not notified )


Timeline:

Application Date: 23rd of July 2019
Started processing: 25th of November 2019

--- 9 Months of silence, then:

RCMP & Police Certificate : 4th August 2020
AIP: 10th of December 2020
DM: 3rd of February 2021 ( same like you @Spogmey )
CoPR: 24th of February 2021 ( No Pdf, No email )

Now waiting for CoPR pdf and then instructions for card but then I don't really care about the card ( it may take long as the CoPR Validity is the longest I have seen but who knows ) I'll hopefully get 2 years validity travel document ( don't need five ) if needed.

I'll update you regarding CoPR pdf and Card instructions once I hopefully get the email.
