I applied on Dec 12, 2020. I still haven't received the PCC. How can I approach the designated police station? I am in Canada currently. Is there a way to get this completed quickly?
What is the status of ur file? Did u check? Did cops visit ur place at back home?

May thats why they are to reach at ut place . Can’t find anyone would the main reason. So check up with ur neighbor or ur relative who can call in nearest police station so that u get to know whether they came

Did you mean to say at the address you gave as permanent address and the corresponding phone number you gave, no one is available?
If that is the case, how are they supposed to verify your identity and process the police verification? You are supposed to provide a relatives address and phone number as permanent address where police and physically verify your identity, post which they issue the PCC.

I applied for PCC (Foreign passport holder) on January 07, 2021. I provided the address where I stayed 12 years ago but I have no family or relatives there in India, I don't even know if the address in India exists anymore... I am not entirely sure how there are going to verify ? I sent emails to the consulate but they never reply back, and the guy that answers the phone is not really willing to help either. What else should I do? Go in person after the lockdown?

I would suggest try twitter and tag HCI, MEA and anyone else that you feel is relevant. Another option would be to try through a friend if you have any. Another thing I could thin of is contacting the police station that you filled out in your application form, because this is where your file is. My fear is, your file would just be ending in their records and they would not take any action.

Thank you so much for this detailed answer. I will try to contact the police station and see what happens. I really appreciate your input.

Guys my file is under this status....

Police Verification has been initiated and a request has been sent to Indian Embassy/Consulate. PCC needs to be collected from the Indian Embassy/Consulate where the applicant applied after a 'Clear' Police Verification Report is received at the Indian Embassy/Consulate.”

Could anyone tell how long it take to be completed from this point?
And does this means its gone to my city police station or not?

Does anyone have information on as to where the police verification report is sent - regional passport office or the consulate where application was made.
Also do we get any emails after the initial “ police verification initiated...........”email.

First to regional office then to your police station. You won't get any other mail. Track status online.

This means that police verification has been initiated. Within a day or so, you should see receive an email (Initiation of Police Verification Request(s) for your PCC Application File (No. CAT******)). Within a day or two of this, you should proactively reach out to you police station for verification if they don't. It can take anywhere between 2-3 weeks after this to get you PCC by post at your doorstep.
