I don't think it should, Harsh. I too deferred from Jan 2021 to September 2021. Did you send your revised LOA through the IRCC webform?

Hello Max,

As far as I know, IRCC is letting students start their studies without aips or visas for now as processing times are delayed due to covid. However, if your college says you've passed the deadline to submit your visa, you may have to defer your intake to May.

In my case, our university gave us time toll April to submit our visa approval. Please check with your agent or student coordinator.

Also, no it won't affect your ppr. Once you sharw the revised LOA with IRCC, they will update your file and automatically your ppr will come in time for May if you choose to defer.

Thank you very much for sharing your experience, I really appreciate. The Approval in Principle allows me to start my program online but my program is not done online but in person... The program started 18th Jan. but AIP arrives 27th after a wks...

I immediately notified the college but they replied that, they cannot register me for the program because of late date and suggested I defer the program till Jan.2022 or Change program to either May intake 2021 or September 2021...

The only similar program/Course is in September intake 2021, May intake programs are not related to my program of Jan. (Infact, the program is only available once a year)

While waiting for PPR, Will it be advisable to change to either May intake or September intake now? I mean total change of course because my initial course/program is only available in January every year?

Hi Max,

If your program is only available in September or Jan, it's upto to make a choice and defer. If you're planning to change your course and go for the May intake, you could do that too.

Just ensure that whatever decision you take, keep IRCC informed through the webform where you would also be able to send them your revised LOA.

I too had to defer from Jan to sept even though my visa application is in process. I sent them my revised LOA and my agent mentioned that IRCC automatically updates your file. My college too said there wasn't a May intake for my course, which is why I took the decision to defer to September 2021.

I do think September, Change of Program would be the best... I will see... Thanks
