Hi all, this is literally my first time posting on this forum, wanted to wait till there is a movement on my application before sharing with you guys
My details: ITA June 25 2020
CEC- Inland
AOR Aug 18 2020
Medicals passed- On my birthday , Oct 6
Bio exempt- got a refund
No movement for sometime. Called IRCC first week in Jan 2021, file was the same. Tried my luck today, called in and found:
Criminality: Passed
Eligibility: Recommended pass
Security: not started.
VO- Ottawa (guess they are really working in full capacity as the mentioned on IRCC)
Does anyone know how soon the security will begin......

As soon as an officer conclusively passes your Eligibility, it will change from Recommended Pass to Passed. At that point, Security will begin.
Just quick question. What the difference between background check vs security and ciminality. Im confused because everytime I called the IRCC tjey keep telling me background check still in progress.
Security and criminality are two different reviews on your application and are both part of the background check. Next time you call the IRCC, you can ask specifically about criminality and security. Security is typically the last part that gets reviewed before you get COPR.

- We are processing your background check. We will send you a message if we need more information.
- Your application is in progress. We will send you a message once the final decision has been made.
You have to call the IRCC if you want more specific information about where your application is at.
