You need a job offer from an employer in Canada and that employer needs to secure an approved LMIA. You can then apply for a closed work permit tied to that specific employer.
Just to add that the employer needs to prove they couldn’t hire any Canadians or PR, and show why hiring you will grow their business and lead the hiring of more Canadians. The LMIA process takes many months and then you apply for a closed work permit. That takes many months and may be refused.
how do i search for genuine employer. i already had a bad experience with immigration consultants who are selling LMIA
You should never pay money in exchange for an LMIA. These are scams.
I would recommend that you apply for jobs through employer web sites directly to avoid scams. You should be aware that the vast majority of employers are not willing to go through the LMIA process and it's even more difficult to get LMIAs approved right now due to COVID-19 related job losses. Your chances of securing a job offer are most likely extremely low. If you want to remain in Canada long term, your best option would be to forget about trying to get a job and focus on qualifying and applying to immigrate through an economic immigration stream like Express Entry.
I tried that but actually due to age factor i do not qualify for express Entry. I need to have canada work experience to strengthen my case & for that i need job. I am here for almost 1 year without job & trying my luck. Do you recommend study visa can help?
Yes, you could go the study permit route. If you complete a qualifying program, you will qualify for an open work permit (PGWP) once you are finished with your studies. If your aim is to get PR, I would very strongly recommend that you take a 2 year program so that you qualify for a 3 year PGWP once you are done. Your studies must be full time at a university or public college (stay away from private colleges).
Public colleges offer a better quality of education and qualify for a PGWP.
Private college have bad reputations and in many / most cases you do not qualify for a PGWP once done.
Use google to find lists of public colleges.
May I ask how old you are because you still may not have enough CRS points for PR even with a Canadian education. Plus to get a study permit, you need to show career progression and show how it will help your career in your home country, not Canada.
Do you have a degree (Masters)? You have many obstacles to overcome. To get a study permit, you need to show strong ties to your country and why taking a Canadian program will help your career back home. You have been out of your country for almost a year. Getting a LMIA for the tourism industry will be very difficult because of high unemployment. Even if you have a masters and taking at least a 3-4 year degree (with approved study permit), you will not have enough CRS points. Are you on a visitor visa?
yes I am on visitor Visa.. What's the way out I mean I know there are plenty of challenges but i want to be solution focused. Guide me the best way.
Your age is going to be a significant barrier to qualifying to immigrate. My advice is that you need to do all or most of the following to get enough points to be selected:
- Achieve the highest scores possible on IELTs
- Learn French (if you don't know French already) and achieve a high enough score to get CRS points for the French language
- Complete a Master's degree in Canada
- Get at least one year of full time skilled work experience in Canada after finishing your Master's
- Secure a job offer that is supported by an approved LMIA
