I got a letter mid January stating my application is being moved to HK. How long does this transfer usually take? And will the update show in gckeys? Thanks.

Thanks. Do you know anything about ss? I thought they did a background check. Also roughly how long does a background take?

your bcg check contains 3 parts, criminality, security and info sharing.
Criminality is verification of your PCC which is usually done at Sydney.
The rest will be done after Eligibility passed.
SS is just an in depth Security Screening through Interpol and other intelligence agencies... which can take a long time - you don wanna get that.

There's no standard processing time for the background check. This varies depending on a number of factors in the applicant's profile.

my wife is the pa and she is a chinese citizen in China. So do that mean she has ss?

. They'll go into more or less detail based on database searches and some evaluation of spouse Background.

This is why I joked earlier, quick of her background is simple, more complex if your spouse is a PLA general. Basically don't worry about it, it takes the time it takes.

ahhh. What is average background time? Some saying 9 months. That seems long. I has my sa in roughly 6 weeks and they would have checked if I had any records, obviously I dont.

Too big a range of time to say anything meaningful. Could be just a formality, could take longer.
