I am looking at sponsoring my spouse but owe some back child support and section 7 expenses. Would this make me ineligible to be a sponsor?

I have a court order but have been paying what is in the court order based on my 2017 income. My income has gone up since 2018 and child support should have increased so I do owe arrears but there is no court order for the arrears yet but the ex may take me to court to try to collect it.

If you're currently complying with the most current court order then you're fine. If there should have been an adjustment based on your increased income - and you didn't make that adjustment - your PR application prospects are probably still okay for now.

I'd STRONGLY recommend being proactive ASAP and get ahead of any court proceedings that could be brought by your ex. Do the new calculations and pay up. If you can dodge any litigation that accuses you of being behind on CS you'll be better off in every way.
