Hi

I recently entered Canada and was issued a work permit at port of entry, it was LMIA required, case type 53, however the employer field was left blank for some reason. The occupation, location and LMIA number are all present and there's a condition at bottom stating I'm not permitted to work for any employer except stated.

I've googled this to death and all I can see is the lack of a stated employer means can work for anyone but the condition and fact that its an LMIA required work permit contradict this. I've tried calling IRCC but get the automated menu runaround and there webform seems to be for pending applications only. Service Canada said they'd never seen it before. Worried this may trip me up on any future PR application

Can anyone shed some light. Thanks

Case type 53 means it's an LMIA-based, closed work permit tied to a specific employer.

I don't think this should trip up any PR applications. IRCC will know you were on a closed work permit.

Do not work for any other employer.

Thanks, No intentions of working for anyone else, and I doubt anyone would hire me. Just want to make sure there's no issues working for current one. Service Canada told me its not normal and to inquire with IRCC, hard to do though.

Clearly someone forgot to fill something out but would work as though the WP had been filled out properly. Would send a webform with a copy of the scanned WP and point out the error.
