Previous Visits on Sponsorship Application

Hi everyone,

My wife and I just got married last month and we are going to be starting the sponsorship application process soon. We have one issue that some people here could probably provide some insight one.

Two years ago, after we had met and visited each other a couple times, she came up here to visit me. Because we had not been seeing each other that long and hadn't made the decision on whether or not we would commit to continuing to invest the time and money to keep a long distance relationship going, and because me taking for granted that people of other nationalities can be more scrutinized at borders than Canadians usually are, I suggested she not disclose that she was coming to visit me and was just travelling. The officers at the border were suspicious and did hold her up for a bit, but ultimately let her into the country. Not a smart move on our part, I know.

Now that we are applying for sponsorship 2 years after this event, and will be truthful on our application, will this become a problem for us?
