Hi everyone,
Hope all of you are fine.

I need your advices. I applied for OPEN work permit while I had an application for PR OUTSIDE Canada. Obviously my open work permit got rejected (because of my mother in law who insisted, despise me knowing the law, anyway).
Now, after 5 months, I want to cancel my PR outside Canada and apply within Canada and, at the same time, apply for open work permit.

1) Is it a good decision to cancel the outside and apply within ? Be aware that I’m not living anymore in my old residency, I’m living with my spouse in Canada. I can’t return anymore in my ex-resident country.

2) Can I apply for the OPEN work permit ? Is it still available? I heart about the pilot project that was temporary, so I’m confused.

Thanks for your advices.

1) It's really your choice. You'll need to withdraw your outland application and submit a brand new inland application (with the OWP). All of your processing times will start from scratch so you'll basically be losing 5 months of waiting.
2) Yes, you can submit an OWP with the inland application.

And note that inland OWP is taking much longer than the previous normal of 4 - 6 months. With delay of COVID, many inland application don't get opened until 6 months or more. So planned for a much longer time to wait for an open work permit.
