Work and do other chores comfortably without having any contact with me....would that be acceptable?
Only if your husband quarantines with you and doesn't leave the apartment for 2 weeks.

As far as I know it doesn't say anywhere that he also has to quarantine if you don't have any symptoms. I read that he has to keep distance and if possible to wear a mask at home but you can double check by calling a COVID 19 line

You should be calling your local public health unit who likely has more up-to-date rules based on the current covid status of the area.. This is exactly how covid gets spread to work places.

There have been some changes to the federal government guidelines online. For example it says you shouldn't share a small apartment with someone who is quarantining. Given that many businesses are being closed and hospitals are at capacity it is just the responsible thing not to quarantine with someone who is still going to school/work/shopping unless they can quarantine in a separate area of the home, like the basement where they have their own bathroom. Food and essentials can be left at the door.

I think the OP didn't ask about our opinion and what we think would be a responsible thing to do (even though I agree that both of them should quarantine together) but is asking if they are not breaking any laws by not self isolating at home together.

I don't think it matter or not if OP has symptoms. OP can try to enter that he/she will be staying in a non-isolated apartment into the APP and see if he/she will get approved for that plan.

It's pretty clear that either the person who didn't travel to the quaratine can't stay with him/her or will need to be quaratined as well.
Unless they release the rule (which doesn't make sense as situation is getting worst.)

Permitted during quarantine:

In your place of quarantine you may:

  • Live with family/friends who didn’t travel with you provided you have a separate bedroom and bathroom, if possible.
  • Use shared spaces such as a kitchen, provided you:
    • limit interactions with others in the household and wear a mask or face covering if a 2-m distance cannot be maintained;
    • thoroughly and regularly clean common areas after use.

You can stay with him in the same apartment and still go to work. My husband landed 3 weeks ago and we did the same in our 1 bedroom apartment and I went to work. The officer at the airport didn’t even ask his quarantine plan, and we had 2 phone calls and 1 visit and we never got in trouble when we said I go to work. It’s just recommended that you have a separate space, EVEN if they have symptoms (which is crazy to me but ahh well) It’s not morally the best, but I couldn’t afford to take time off work with no pay and we didn’t have anywhere else for him to stay. We told the officer we were trying to stay distant but he said we were fine.

just don’t advertise to people around you what you’re doing if you’re worried, because even if it’s legal, most people aren’t going to be okay with it. But I only went to work (where I work alone and wear PPE in common rooms) and didn’t go elsewhere and had groceries delivered to us once he arrived.

Sharing a bathroom with a Covid patient is a high risk activity.

There have been updates which now say this. But as well all know quarantine rules can be different in every municipality.
Your 14-day quarantine starts on the day you arrive
  • Go directly to your place of quarantine without delay and stay there for the duration of your quarantine.
  • Practise physical distancing at all times.
  • Avoid stops and contact with others while in transit to quarantine:
    • Use a private vehicle if possible
    • Remain in the vehicle as much as possible
    • Pay at the pump for gas and use drive through when you need food
    • Wear a suitable non-medical mask or face covering at all times unless you are alone in a private vehicle
  • You must report the following through the ArriveCAN app, online at Canada.ca/ArriveCAN
  • or call 1-833-641-0343:
    • Your arrival at your place of quarantine within 48 hours after entering Canada
    • Your COVID-19 symptom self-assessment every day until the end of your quarantine
A suitable place of quarantine is one where you:

  • Have access to the necessities of life without leaving your place of quarantine
  • Have a separate bedroom if the space is shared with family/friends who didn't travel with you
  • Can limit interactions with others in the household. If spaces, such as a kitchen, are shared:
    • wear a mask or face covering if a 2m distance cannot be maintained;
    • thoroughly and regularly clean common areas after use
  • Are not living with those at risk of more severe disease
  • Are not in close contact with others who did not travel with you. For example, do not quarantine in:
    • a group or communal living setting, including camps or students dorms unless the location is pre-authorized;
    • a household with a large family or many people
    • a shared small apartment or similar setting

The situation in Canada with covid has changed. Even the quarantine website has changed so it may have been a problem if he/she today. If you have any questions one should call their local public health office who is aware of the situation on the ground. Most of the controls are provincial and municipal when it comes to covid.
